OUR STORY
We both love teaching and composing. In fact, we love composing for our teaching...
Having spent many years teaching in a wide range of settings we felt there was nothing out there that covered all the work that we do. Individual teaching, group teaching, whole class and beginner string orchestras. Over many years of teaching together we decided to put all our compositions into one book that just works.
With the help of Faber Music Publishers we now have Stringtastic Beginners, a collection of music from open string to D major finger pattern for Violin, Viola, Cello and Bass. All the pieces work together or in any combination.
We hope they are as helpful to you as they are to us!

MARK WILSON
Composer
Mark Wilson is a professional violinist and experienced teacher and composer. Mark has performed all over the world, leading orchestras and chamber ensembles, as well as giving concerto performances. He has provided masterclasses and composers’ workshops at the London College of Music, Junior Trinity and Junior Guildhall. Mark teaches upper strings at Glenalmond College and at The Prince’s Trust.
PAUL WOOD
Composer
Paul Wood is a Music Education Consultant and has worked for Trinity College London, the Scottish Brass Band Association and the Music Education Partnership Group. He has a wealth of teaching and educational management experience, including Director of Music at the Lae International School and Head of Strings for Wakefield Music Service. While working for the East Ayrshire Music Service, Paul was also the Chair of the Heads of Instrumental Teaching, working closely with the Scottish Government in developing instrumental music-making in Scotland.
